what to do next?

I am just trying to find answers for a million questions.... I have work for a reo company for years and now we have been talking about going on our own.. we live in MN and are planning to move to Northern CA to take a job for a reo  company on our own... we are setting up LLC and will have insurance but we have been searching to find if you need permits for hazard wastes ect... if any one knows what I should look into that would be great.. or anything else that would help us get on the right foot would be great!
